Keith County commissioners approve routine items, authorize DHHS signature and permits

At its regular meeting, the Keith County Board of Commissioners approved several routine and administrative items including agenda, minutes, claims and a series of staff requests.

Procedural votes: the board approved the meeting agenda, the previous meeting’s minutes and payment of claims by roll-call votes (motions made and seconded; votes recorded as 'yes' by present members).

DHHS contract signatory: Commissioners authorized Tina Devoe, clerk of the district court, to sign DocuSign Amendment 2 to the county’s contract with the Department of Health and Human Services for 4-D funds. Schroeder moved and Wartman seconded the motion; the roll-call vote was unanimous.

Permits and travel: The board approved a Midwest Electric permit to occupy county right-of-way for a pivot-power connection (a $200 permit). It also approved a travel request for Dave Kling to attend the North Central PET Region meeting in Taylor. Motions for those items carried on roll-call votes.

Finance note: The board acknowledged receipt and deposit of a quarterly franchise fee payment from Charter Communications totaling $1,812.69.

All recorded motions were seconded and passed by roll call with yes votes from present commissioners (Wartman, Anderson, Schroeder, Crandall). The meeting adjourned after additional board reports and correspondence.
