DeKalb, Ill. — At the end of its Feb. 17 meeting, the DeKalb Planning and Zoning Commission received staff reports about upcoming items and recent council approvals.
Staff announced the commission's next meeting is scheduled for March 2. Items noted for upcoming hearings include a variance application for a detached garage and corner-lot fence at 200 Andrews Drive in the Southpointe neighborhood.
Staff also reported that, at the most recent City Council meeting, the council approved a rezoning and special-use permit for 315 North 6th Street to allow a therapeutic day school, with a condition that a safety plan be prepared and approved by police and fire before occupancy. The council also approved text amendments to sign rules in the Central Business District to accommodate a Stagecoach Theater marquee sign, staff said.
The commission had no additional business and adjourned following a motion and voice vote.
