Charity Lapssa, owner of Hot Spot Cafe and a member of the La Porte Small Business Coalition, told the council she has arranged for Cousins Maine Lobster to operate a food truck outside Hot Spot Cafe (602 Lincoln Way) on March 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. She said initial response on Facebook has been strong—more than 150 people indicated they were coming or interested—and encouraged residents to spread the word.
Lapssa said the arrangement may lead to additional visits from the franchise if local demand continues. The announcement was made during the public comment period; no council action was required.
