Summary
The Fargo Liquor Control Board approved an ownership transfer of the liquor license for the 4 Points by Sheraton (5064 23rd Avenue South) to USH Fargo Ventures LLLP; staff reported no background concerns and the new owner confirmed on-site management and a Fargo-based point of contact.
The Fargo Liquor Control Board approved a transfer of the liquor license for the 4 Points by Sheraton at 5064 23rd Avenue South to USH Fargo Ventures, LLLP, following staff review and a brief question-and-answer session with the new owner.
Angie, a licensing staff member, told the board Fargo Self Hospitality LLC sold the license to USH Fargo Ventures and that the doing-business-as name and license type would remain the same. "They're keeping the same DBA, so it will still be 4 Points by Sheraton," Angie said. She added that background checks raised no concerns and asked the board for a motion to approve the transfer.
Josh Malz, president and CEO of US Hotel and Resort Management, said US Hotel owns the property and employs on-site staff. "We are the entity that owns, that just purchased the 4 Points," Malz said, and he identified Claire Hughes as the on-site manager and local point of contact who lives in Fargo.
A board member moved to approve the transfer; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote with members responding "Aye." The board did not provide a numerical roll-call on the record for the voice vote.
The transfer changes ownership of the license only; staff will maintain the license file and local contact information for compliance and enforcement purposes. The board noted the importance of a local, in-person contact for timely communication with city staff and law enforcement if incidents occur.
