The advisory board approved minutes from the Jan. 15, 2026 meeting and received several staff updates on recent events and administrative procedures.
Ursula (staff) explained public-comment procedures and confirmed that public comments may be scheduled on a future agenda or handled by staff if follow-up is needed. Staff also confirmed that the 'Home for the Holidays' program had already been paid.
Board members and staff debriefed recent events, praising additions such as activity-center vendors and police presence. One participant described overall attendance as "close to 30,000" for the event period while staff said opening-night attendance was lower than in some previous years; members discussed possibly moving some activities to a Friday to attract more families. Otis said a planning meeting will be held next week and that organizers are considering a drum show slot for next year.
Staff announced an Open Meetings Law training on March 25 at 6 p.m., with the possibility of virtual attendance, and asked members to watch for final instructions. Staff reminded members that 75% attendance is required for the ward’s monthly schedule and that applications for agenda items must be submitted at least 10 days before the agenda-review meeting to be considered.
With no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
