Representative Ybarra, who said he had worked on the Energy Independence Act since 2008, praised the bill and said it would save money for utilities. The committee took a voice vote; staff announced 21 ayes and 0 nays and the bill was reported out with a due‑pass recommendation.
No amendments were adopted during the executive session. The bill advances subject to scheduling by the House leadership.
