Bonner County EMS staff provided a first-quarter look at revenues and expenditures for fiscal-year 2026 (Oct.–Dec.). The presentation showed payroll as the largest expense line and noted supplies and oxygen costs were slightly over budget for the quarter.
Staff reported an average burn rate for the first three months of just under $350,000 and said some Q1 purchases are reimbursed in later quarters (for example, AED purchases billed to school districts). Cash on hand was reported at just under $3.0 million, roughly $1.5 million higher than the same point in the prior year. The presenter said a follow-up report would be prepared after March close to confirm year-to-date trends.
Commissioners asked for clarification on the supplies/oxygen line and were told timing and reimbursement patterns can create short-term variance; staff suggested reviewing Q2 figures to confirm whether the trend persists.
