Bill would require a computer science unit with AI fundamentals before high school graduation

Joint sponsors told the committee SB 326 would require one unit of computer science (covering AI fundamentals) for students entering ninth grade on or after July 1, 2029, and would require high schools to offer at least one unit; the measure includes multiple pathways, a phased implementation and direction to the Department of Education and Workforce.
