At its Feb. 2 meeting, Lock Haven City Council approved a slate of routine permits and appointments including a donated flagpole for Veterans Park, a temporary banner for a PA CareerLink job fair, street closures for community celebrations, and an appointment to the Flood Protection Authority.
Mr. Harvard (speaker on the record) told the council his group would pay more than $9,000 for a new flagpole and would provide landscaping and maintenance; the council voted to accept the donation and authorize placement and hardscaping in coordination with city maintenance staff.
The council approved Resolution 2026-06 to allow a banner across Main Street from May 3 to June 3 to advertise a career fair through PA CareerLink. It also approved a closure of East Main Street for a Nov. holiday event requested by Mark Schlesinger and the Susquehanna Event Center, and approved a June 27 closure of North Vesper Street for the Pride in the Haven celebration, noting traffic controls and alley routing.
In unfinished business the council appointed William Wallace to the Flood Protection Authority and approved an RFP timing update for the Lock Haven space building bids (bid deadline extended to Feb. 19 at 3 p.m.). The council also approved a payment of $1,837.50 requested for audit costs, splitting water and sewer portions as described by staff.
Each of the items above passed on recorded roll-call votes, as reflected in the meeting transcript. The meeting adjourned after liaison reports and committee updates.
