The City of Laredo Fine Arts and Culture Commission on its February 2026 agenda reported that Phase 1 of the city’s public‑art contest closed in December 2025 and Phase 2 — collection and evaluation of design submissions — is complete. An arts‑and‑culture staff member said the city purchased selected designs and has posted a separate RFQ to hire artists and contractors to fabricate and install the work.
