Commissioners approve multiple zoning petitions; most items pass with no public opposition
The Decatur County Board approved a slate of subdivision and rezoning petitions presented by the Area Plan Commission, including petitions 2023-13, 2025-2, 2025-15, 2025-19, 2025-20, 2025-21, 2025-23 and 2025-30; motions were carried by voice vote with no substantive public comment recorded.

Doug Westerfeld, representing the Area Plan Commission (APC), presented a package of rezoning and subdivision petitions to the board. The petitions covered small lot subdivisions and rezoning requests largely described as "to build a primary residence" or to subdivide acreage for residential development.
