Rep. Shields backs moving Community Service Commission to Higher Education, committee to 'exec' bill soon
Representative Brenda Shields told the House Higher Education and Workforce Development Committee that House Bill 3,279 would move the Community Service Commission from the Department of Economic Development to the Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development to better link AmeriCorps participants to education and workforce resources; she said the commission has seven FTEs and estimated about $10 million in federal funds.
