Board approves consent agenda items and several tax-abatement rulings

At its Dec. 16 meeting the Clear Creek County Board of County Commissioners approved the consent agenda, which included the warrant register; Resolution 25-89 adopting 2026 holiday schedules for county offices and the transfer station; a master services agreement with Axon Enterprises for body-worn cameras, in-car video and digital evidence storage; an MOU with Prowers County for a hotline; and EMS funding grant attestation.
During the morning abatement docket, the assessor presented several petitions seeking tax abatements for vacant mining-claim parcels. In one case involving a Dewey Mining claim assessor recommended a refund of approximately $505.65 per year and the board issued an order directing that refund after confirming access issues. In a cluster of related petitions, staff presented a recorded survey showing a reserved 30-foot private roadway easement; after review the board accepted the assessor’s determination that legal access exists and denied the abatement petitions where evidence showed an existing easement. The board noted petitioners may seek driveway permits or request reconsideration if future permit denials occur.
