Board approves procurement to install irrigation and seed secondary fairgrounds fields

He told the board the procurement will likely exceed $100,000 and that the county will consider a bid process or procurement-contract providers depending on which is most practical.
The board moved and voted to engage in the procurement process. "I move that that we engage in a procurement procurement process to acquire irrigation system and grass for the secondary fields at the County Fairgrounds Park," said Speaker 1; Speaker 6 seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
Board members discussed progress on Field 1 — fencing, dugouts, infield completion and electrical work — and confirmed the fairgrounds opening celebration and first game were scheduled for March 6. Supervisors asked for periodic updates on the fairgrounds and other active projects at upcoming meetings.
Next steps: county staff will proceed to prepare a procurement or bid request and anticipate moving forward with purchasing to meet the April seeding target.
