Senate commerce committee adopts its rules, opens three bill hearings
The Senate Committee on Commerce and General Government opened its organizational meeting Feb. 4, adopted committee rules for the session by roll call, then held public hearings on three bills: SB 1512 (Prosperity10000), SB 1513 (delay to a real-estate team-name rule), and SB 1524 (horse-racing lottery allocation).

The Senate Committee on Commerce and General Government convened an organizational meeting on Feb. 4 and voted to adopt committee rules dated Feb. 4, 2026. Senator Robinson moved to adopt the proposed rules; a roll call recorded Senators Pham, Robinson and Chair Meade voting yes, while Senators Narott Misland and Vice Chair Draisone were recorded as excused. The motion carried and the committee closed the organizational portion of its meeting.
