Nye County accepts independent audit despite internal control weaknesses
Auditors issued a clean opinion on Nye County's FY2022–23 financial statements after proposed adjustments were recorded, but reported a material weakness in the comptroller's office, three small deficit funds and several budget violations that require corrective action plans with the Department of Taxation.

Nye County commissioners voted unanimously April 30 to accept the independent audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, after Daniel MacArthur Limited presented its report and recommended adjustments.
