Treasurer Explains Reporting Timing as Water District Presents Basin Work Plan

Nye County Treasurer Raelyn Powers briefed the board on the county’s monthly statements and reconciliation process, responding to prior concerns about perceived reporting delays. Powers said county months "do not close on the last day of the month" but are finalized between the 10th and 15th of the following month to allow departments and independent bank accounts to submit final reports, and described a largely manual reconciliation process that uses Excel and multiple review levels.
