Sutter County issues proclamations recognizing 4‑H week, awareness months and community observances

Proclamations adopted during the meeting included National 4‑H Week; Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (October 19–25, 2025), with public health staff noting case management, education and home visits to mitigate lead exposure; National Bullying Prevention Month for October 2025, with the county superintendent of schools emphasizing collective responsibility; Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with reminders about early detection and American Cancer Society guidance; Domestic Violence Awareness Month, with remarks from Michelle Downing on increasing calls for service in recent years; Crime Prevention Month, where sheriff’s representatives discussed partnerships, recent theft investigations and community policing; and National Book Month, with the library promoting free resources and fall events.
