SUTTER COUNTY — On Sept. 9 the Sutter County Board of Supervisors adopted the fiscal-year 2025–26 budget resolution and associated adjustments to the tentatively approved budget.
County Administrator Steve Smith summarized the budget process: staff held a budget study session on April 29, posted the recommended budget on June 6, and the board tentatively approved the recommended budget on June 24. Budget hearings were held on Aug. 19. Smith told the board that final fund balances will be recognized once the county books are closed and that the auditor-controller will submit the finalized budget to the State Controller’s Office by Dec. 1.
No members of the public spoke on the item. After brief comments and the call for a motion, the board voted to adopt the resolution; the motion carried with no opposition.
Smith and staff said they are available to answer follow-up questions and will return with any final adjustments needed for timely state submission.
