Sutter County signs U.S. Army PACE partnership guaranteeing job interviews for veterans

Sutter County formalized a memorandum of agreement with the U.S. Army PACE (Partnership for Your Success) program during a signing ceremony at the Board of Supervisors meeting on June 10.
Clerk staff invited Veronica Bumgarner and Lieutenant Colonel Sadolsky to the front for the signing. Lieutenant Colonel Sadolsky, commander of the Northern California recruiting battalion, described PACE as "a strategic partnership between the US Army and a cross section of private industry, academia, and businesses," and said the program "guarantees soldiers and ROTC cadets five job interviews and possible employment after their service." He framed the agreement as a way to help veterans transition into civilian employment and to provide the county with access to skilled, disciplined candidates.
County staff thanked internal HR staff (Elizabeth Sandoval and Hank Sims) for helping secure the partnership. The Army presented a certificate and plaque to the county marking participation in the program; speakers expressed enthusiasm about expanding recruitment pathways for service members with local ties.
Next steps: the memorandum was signed during the ceremony; county HR indicated it will coordinate implementation and candidate outreach with the Northern California Recruiting Battalion and internal hiring teams.
