Residents praise county crews, raise concerns about trash trucks and code enforcement

Patrick Stowell (2769 White Creek Lane) thanked county street crews for recent slab repairs in his subdivision but warned that unregulated triple‑axle trash trucks are damaging subdivision streets and could cost the county "tens of millions" to repair if left unchecked. He urged the council to consider regulating haulers’ weight, routing or permitting in subdivisions the county maintains.
Dawn Chad (1463 Scenic Drive, Arnold) said she has repeatedly sought help from the police department, code enforcement and planning staff with problems at her property and alleged response failures and retaliation that have left her without resolution.
State Representative Renee Reuter (District 112) spoke as a resident and former county‑council chair. She congratulated the council on technology improvements, said she had worked on the senior tax‑freeze and offered assistance pursuing grants and working with the council on a park project for a flood‑affected family; she declined to speak on the transfer‑station item after it was removed from the agenda.
Adam Bridal (PreventEd) thanked staff for support while opening Jefferson County’s first recovery community center in Imperial and announced a partnership donation of a minivan by JFCAC for peer‑support transportation.
Council response: council members acknowledged the comments, noted the need to weigh enforcement and budget implications, and asked staff where appropriate to follow up.
