At a Jan. 5 meeting of the Town of Farmington ad hoc sidewalk committee, staff presented a preliminary condition survey of the town’s sidewalks and sketched options for funding new and repaired sidewalks. Committee staff said the town currently has about 48 miles of sidewalks and that repairing all sidewalks to town standards would cost roughly $18,000,000.
Paul Veil, a Meadow Road property owner who identified himself during public comment, told the committee he believes his frontage will be heavily affected by the proposed Meadow Road sidewalk and said he has submitted a Freedom of Information request about an easement dispute. “I think I’m the largest property owner in terms of frontage that will be impacted on Meadow Road,” Paul Veil said, arguing the town…
