The Morrow County Board of Commissioners on Sept. 30 approved a series of routine financial actions and contract authorizations, including appropriations to the general and capital funds, vendor payments and authorization to advertise a request for qualifications for architectural services tied to jail renovations.
Clerk/staff presented bills and payment requests for county services (including reimbursements for senior services and rent paid by JFS), and the board moved to appropriate certified unappropriated funds to cover those items. The board also approved transfers to the general fund to cover monthly bank fees and a separate transfer for the recycling fund after a brief exchange about rising bank charges.
The board approved a low quote from Landis Sealcoat for seal coating at the Community Service Building and authorized the advertising of a notice of request for qualifications (RFQ) for architectural design services to support jail renovations. Staff said the RFQ will be advertised for one month and documents can be picked up midweek.
Other routine approvals included pay application No. 5 for Stevens Construction Company and several appropriations tied to capital improvements. Votes on consent items were taken by roll call and recorded as affirmative.
The board closed the consent portion of the meeting and moved on to separate agenda items including project‑specific change orders and a contract award for boiler replacement at the county jail.
