Stonecrest approves Covington Highway rezoning, denies Chubb Road rezoning; conditions set for business expansion

The approval requires a lot-combination plat (7505 and 7511 Covington Highway and 6760 Chuck Road) within 90 days of approval.
The applicant (identified in the record as Miss Simpson) answered council questions about the three-parcel plan and said the properties would remain physically separate but functionally combined for parking and operations. The motion to approve RZ 250067511 passed 5–0.
On a separate item, council considered RZ 250076760 (Chubb Road). Staff again recommended approval with conditions similar to the Covington item, including no commercial signage on the Chuck Road frontage as added by the planning commission. Council then moved to deny RZ 250076760; the vote was recorded as 4–1 with Councilman Turner the lone recorded no vote. The denial was entered as 4–1.
