Wilson County Planning Commission denies rezoning request for Carthage Highway property
The commission on Aug. 16 denied a request to rezone about 7.36 acres on Carthage Highway from agricultural to highway commercial. Staff said the county land-use plan does not call for commercial use there; the applicant can appeal to county court within 10 days.

The Wilson County Planning Commission voted Aug. 16 to deny a rezoning application by Hardikumar Patel to change roughly 7.36 acres on Carthage Highway from A-1 (agricultural) to C-1 (highway commercial). Staff told the commission the county growth and land-use plans do not direct commercial development in that area and therefore recommended denial.
