Dilday told the board the district is moving forward with multiple site projects, including the Bingham and Pershing projects and district‑wide safety/security upgrades (Genetec access/scanner replacements). He highlighted a Pipkin change order for $80,000 required after city plan review and structural/electrical adjustments, and a roughly $20,000 change order at Reed Middle School to support preserved stonework and related structural increases.
Board members asked whether the change orders were within contingency and whether city code requirements drove the changes; Dilday said a portion resulted from city review and some from design adjustments that required upsizing structural steel. After discussion, Dr. Mahadmakhani moved to approve the expenditures “as presented,” Vice President Kincaid seconded, and the motion passed with seven affirmative votes.
The board recorded no dissenting votes in the verbal roll call and the projects will continue under the updated change‑order budgets.
