Trey said Metro Water has agreed to adopt the safety reports platform and "there'll be 85 sites that we'll upload here tomorrow" for training. He reported that the Bell Construction job at the juvenile justice center is "at 0 incidents now" and that the no-incident streak is "52 days." Trey told members he is registered for OSHA 510 training (a prerequisite for the 500-class certification) and said that training capacity will help the board expand its internal training offerings.
Board members asked about timelines. Trey estimated Metro Water could be up and running in 30 days and said he hopes to bring additional departments online over the balance of the year; he described a goal of roughly 30 days to onboard a single department. He also said initial outreach to MNPS (Metro Nashville Public Schools) produced resistance: MNPS officials signaled they do not want additional inspection responsibilities outside of contractor obligations or to sign an MOU. Counsel and members discussed liability concerns if Metro were to perform site inspections that could affect tort-immunity protections.
Trey said he has been coordinating with NDOT staff (Diana Alcorn and Philip Jones) and other departments and will continue follow-up. He asked the board to consider what KPIs it wants to track; the consultant and staff will return with suggested KPIs and a proposed reporting dashboard for future meetings.
No formal action was taken at the meeting on these operational items; the board directed staff to continue implementation and to bring back KPI proposals.
