The Morrow County Board of Commissioners approved a slate of routine items on June 24, including fund transfers, vendor contracts and service agreements, and journalized a staff resignation.
Among the approved items, Unidentified Speaker (S4) presented group bill number 1031 and multiple motions concerning permit fees, reimbursements and grant appropriations; motions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call. The board approved transfers into and out of the recycling fund and a transfer to the engineer’s fund; roll-call confirmations were recorded with commissioners answering in the affirmative.
The board also approved contracting actions: a services contract related to the Local Emergency Planning Committee and the county Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency authorizing the chairman to sign; a contract with Kikozey Construction Company Inc. for a type-1 asphalt concrete project; and an application for Stevens Construction on a Rock County Health District project. Unidentified Speaker (S4) noted an increase in the amount for the Central Ohio Use center agreement prior to its approval.
IT infrastructure for the health district: the board approved a quote from Morrow Telephone and Security to run Cat6 lines to the Morrow County Health District facility at 480 Douglas Street in the amount of $5,920.
Personnel: the board journalized acceptance of Angela Powell’s resignation, effective July 2, 2024. Colleagues praised Powell’s work in workforce and economic-development programming and discussed a planned transition, noting Randy Spoon as a recent hire who may take on some responsibilities.
