Door County Board actions: resolutions, appointments and staffing changes approved

Resolution 2026-02: The board authorized application for county snowmobile trail aid to support development and maintenance of snowmobile trails, citing Wisconsin Statutes sec. 23.09(26) as the aid authority. The mover explained the resolution authorizes the facilities and parks director or designee to apply to the Wisconsin DNR and execute required documents; the motion passed by voice vote.
Resolution 2026-03: The board approved an appointment of Justin McDonald to the Communications Advisory Technical Subcommittee to fill a vacancy left by the death of Fire Chief Heck of Sister Bay. Supervisor Thais presented the appointment and the board approved it by voice vote.
Resolution 2026-04: The board adopted Health and Human Services ADRC division staffing changes. Supervisor Norton said the fiscal impact saves the county $9,775. County staff explained the reconfiguration would adjust two positions resulting in three position-status changes (one full-time to two part-time; one part-time to full-time) to increase capacity to serve individuals with dementia. The motion passed by voice vote.
Procedural votes and minutes: The board also approved the Jan. 27 agenda, and approved the Dec. 16 meeting minutes earlier in the session.
Votes were recorded by voice for most items; the ordinance on the Gibraltar rezoning (covered in a separate article) required a roll-call vote and passed 18–0 with three absent.
