Belts Park site-work bids come in under estimate; Manor Park rehabilitation planned for April

Dave Adams reported that the bid opening for Belts Park site work occurred this week and that results were approximately $50,000 under the engineer’s estimate. Adams said Belts work is divided into multiple phases: court rehabilitation (nearing completion), site work to add sidewalks and trails to improve connectivity, and playground replacement with new equipment and poured-in-place surfacing.
Adams said some components of the site plans removed the existing ball field from the current phase and that the commission may discuss whether to reinstate or re-envision a ball field in a future phase. The flash drives provided to commissioners contain artist renderings and construction plans for review.
Staff also previewed Manor Park rehabilitation, which is on the 2025 CIP and will be presented to the commission in April with playground-equipment options and a full breakdown of the scope and schedule.
Next steps: Commissioners were asked to drive by Manor Park and review the flash-drive materials ahead of the April meeting so the commission can provide timely recommendations to City Council.
