Commissioners approve multiple contracts, software and service renewals

Denton County Commissioners Court on Tuesday approved a series of contracts, supplemental agreements and service renewals covering software, engineering and health services.
The court approved Amendment No. 2 to the jury management software license and service agreement in the amount of $36,098 and accepted the county purchasing director's recommendation for the contract action.
The court also approved a supplemental professional services agreement with STV Inc. (previously Chang Patel and Yerby Inc.) to increase scope for the Loop 288 project (I-35W to I-35E) by $549,752, bringing the revised contract total to $10,621,795.60, as presented by county staff.
An interlocal agreement with the city of Justin will let Denton County participate in a feasibility study to enhance regional animal-control services; the county's reimbursable share was listed as not to exceed $4,000.
The court renewed the FastPsych, LLC placement agreement to provide telepsychiatric services for inmates and juvenile detainees for one year beginning March 14, 2026, with weekly clinic hours and funding through specified prisoner medical and juvenile detention line items. Members noted telepsychiatry reduces costs compared with in-person psychiatric services.
Additional approvals included a supplemental agreement with Westwood Professional Services to add traffic engineering, construction inspection and administration services for the SH 114 Championship Parkway signal project (+$142,500) and a 61-day extension for the county's alternate dispute resolution program ($24,000). Several of the motions passed on voice votes, as recorded in open court.
The court did not discuss contract protest procedures or solicitations during the public meeting; staff provided contract descriptions and funding sources in each agenda item.
