The vendor’s bid for implementation and three years of maintenance totals $343,620.21; staff said funding is available in the FY24–25 detention‑center upgrade budget. The installation start date was described as May 1 with a projected completion of June 15 if the board approved the agreement.
During questioning, staff said the county evaluated two vendors and selected APIC in part for responsiveness and a lower cost. Commissioners asked about interoperability with other counties, and staff replied that records are confidential to the county but that the system can pull reports for other agencies when requested through the vendor help desk.
The motion to approve the resolution (Res. 25April102R) passed following a second from a commissioner. No public opposition was recorded during the item’s hearing.
Commissioners and staff said the new system is intended to reduce paper records, improve reporting speed for legal and external requests, and tighten release controls by matching fingerprints at release.
What’s next: staff will finalize the agreement and oversee vendor training and implementation, with the vendor committing to train staff before leaving the county.
