Co Chair Prozanski called the Senate Committee on Conduct to order Feb. 25 and the panel adopted proposed committee rules to govern its work for the session.
Melissa, a staff member who presented the proposed text, told the committee the rules are based on standard Senate committee rules but modified for a four-member conduct committee: they remove minority-report and subcommittee provisions that do not operate effectively with so few members, recognize co-chair roles, and include a one-hour notice authority for interim safety measures and procedures for reporting recommendations to the full chamber.
Co Chair Perczynski moved adoption of the rules dated Feb. 25, 2026. Co Chair Anderson put the motion on the floor and the clerk recorded affirmative votes. Co Chair Prozanski announced the motion carried and said the committee now has rules to operate under.
The adoption clears the procedural groundwork for the committee's forthcoming informational hearing and work sessions, including consideration of an investigator's report later the same evening.
The committee recessed briefly after the vote and reconvened for the investigator's presentation and subsequent testimony.
