During introductions of new business at the Oct. 7 meeting, a board member raised concerns stemming from recent curriculum-committee meetings about middle-school class leveling in mathematics. The member said parents and teachers had expressed questions and concerns and asked the administration to provide the educational research supporting any recommendation as well as raw data and qualitative teacher feedback for the board to review.
