During its Dec. 11 meeting the Gresham-Barlow SD 10J board took several formal actions.
OSBA elections: Director Heather moved to nominate district director Chris Howitt for OSBA board of directors position 18; the motion was seconded and approved with affirmations of 'Aye' and no recorded opposition. The board then approved three uncontested legislative policy committee seats: Heather Coleman Cox to position 17, Althea Ender to position 18 and Christie Splet to position 19.
Grants: Heidi Lascher presented an integrated-grants renewal (Student Investment Account, SIA) that combines multiple initiatives (high-school success, SIA, early literacy, Perkins CTE and others) and asked the board to approve the 2025–27 SIA grant agreement (presented in materials as agreement 22527). The board moved, seconded and approved the SIA grant agreement with no recorded opposition.
Votes recorded in the meeting were voice affirmations of approval; the transcript does not include a roll-call tally of named aye/no votes. The motions were presented as routine board business and passed during the meeting’s action items.
Next steps: The board’s selections for OSBA representation and the approved SIA grant will be transmitted per OSBA and state grant submission procedures; the board secretary was instructed to submit the OSBA ballot by Dec. 15 for the regional positions discussed.
