Separately, staff told the board that auditors had determined the district did not properly record a lease in accordance with GASB 87 and classified the lapse as a significant finding requiring a corrective plan and board approval. According to the presentation, the district has engaged Northwest Regional ESD to provide expedited support to correct lease accounting and related documentation. The board voted to approve the plan of action to address the auditor’s concerns.
Board members stressed that the corrective work must be implemented promptly to meet the Oregon Secretary of State’s expectations and to prevent similar errors in future financial reporting.
