Board hears updates on SRO contract, 'second chance' breakfast pilot and new bus routing software

The chair said the city will consider the SRO contract the day after the board meeting and that the officer is expected to be on site full time beginning March 24. "He will be here full time. March 24 is the first expected day," the chair said.
On nutrition, the district plans to pilot a "second chance breakfast" for middle-and high-school students beginning next Monday, with fifth- and sixth-grade rollout the following week; elementary students were not included initially because of earlier lunch schedules.
For transportation, the chair said the district is working with a company called Scribe to replace routing software and provide digital tablets to drivers so they no longer rely on paper routes.
These operational updates followed consent approvals and a finance briefing. No formal policy changes or contested votes on these operational items were recorded in the meeting transcript.
