Zach Adler, the board of education student representative from the middle school, addressed the board with a fall update on student life. He told the board students reconnected during the first day of school, that all fifth and seventh graders completed Heimlich Heroes training in health class, and that spirit week and the pep rally brought together varsity athletes and younger students. He described a PTA barbecue and a club fair that encouraged student involvement, an eighth‑grade field trip to an adventure park, grade‑level assemblies, a veterans tea hosted by students and staff, and a drama production of Legally Blonde Junior. He thanked the board for the opportunity to represent the student voice.
Adler said the Heimlich Heroes lessons used virtual materials from heimlichheroes.com plus teacher‑led discussions so students could learn how to respond in emergencies. He also noted that the newspaper club is preparing a December edition for the school website.
The board thanked Adler for the report and invited him to remain at the meeting but noted he was not required to stay.
