The Fall River School Board approved a series of operational motions including an updated coaches' pay schedule, routine payroll and voucher payments, an athletic trip and vendor and financing arrangements.
Administration presented a coaches-pay proposal that updates base rates and adds longevity stipends (for example, head coaches would receive an extra $100 for each returning year). Administration said the change addresses a pay scale that had not been updated in roughly eight years and estimated an additional ongoing cost of roughly $45,000 to the district. Board members discussed a possible cap on longevity and whether the stipend should be limited (a 10-year cap was mentioned), but the board approved the recommendation as presented.
The board approved payroll for 06/30 through 07/15 and vouchers (listed by voucher ranges) totaling $410,606.57. The board also approved a request from the high-school trap team to travel to nationals in Mesa, Michigan (July 10—1313); coaches said the trip is funded by sponsors, donations and parent contributions.
Other routine approvals included renewing an online contract for the school nutrition program to secure reimbursements for free and reduced-price meals, and extending the district's revolving line of credit with Farmers and Merchants Bank to preserve short-term borrowing capacity for cash-flow needs. The board recorded motions and carried votes on each item.
