Participants proposed a mix of strategies: incentivizing students who comply (recognition, monthly trips, announcements), providing uniforms at school for students who need them, and ensuring adult consistency across buildings. One board member suggested that visibility and rewards could produce peer-driven compliance: "Recognizing the children that are in uniform might be a very good start," the speaker said.
Administrators and staff raised implementation questions — how many uniforms were purchased, who receives them, and how to sustain distribution — and said they will refine policy details and supports with student input and staff guidance.
The meeting did not produce a final policy change or vote; board members asked staff to return with more detailed proposals that balance enforcement with supports and to include student voice in any revisions.
