Shelby proclaims Stormwater Awareness Week and commends firefighters after Springville Township explosion

In his mayoral report, the mayor addressed a recent, fatal house explosion on Hook Road in Springville Township and praised the rapid, mutual-aid response. He read an email from Shelby Fire Chief Mike Thompson describing the scene, listing Shelby apparatus and personnel who aided the effort and commending their work in search and rescue. The mayor asked citizens to offer words of commendation to the firefighters named in his remarks.
The council did not take formal action beyond the proclamation and the public commendation during the meeting; both items were presented and accepted as part of the mayor’s report.
