The director described the safety request as focused on items raised by the district safety officer.
Facilities staff outlined a small project at the Decline building to replace problematic glass double doors at the drop-off area with an automated roll-up door to simplify vehicle unloading. The director also described an intermittent hot-water circulation problem affecting bathrooms and locker rooms; possible fixes explored include localized under-sink instant heaters or investigating pump/circulation systems.
Board members raised maintenance issues such as debris accumulation at certain gym entrances and the status of radiant heaters for cold-weather operations. The director also presented a vendor quote to replace a section of middle-school lockers; the quote for a section was described in the $75,000–$80,000 range, and board members discussed phasing the replacement across multiple years and seeking potential grant or partnership opportunities.
No formal board action was taken on grants or large capital requests at the meeting; staff will pursue grant application steps and return with further details and potential funding sources for capital projects.
