Valley View Local board approves donations, contracts, personnel actions and calendar change

Donations and grants approved included a $500 donation from the Germtown Alliance Club Foundation to the junior-high STEM instructor for laser-printer materials; a $500 donation from the Ntown Alliance Club Foundation to support PBIS at the junior high; a $4,425.95 donation from Carrie Daniel to fund a flag in the new gymnasium; and a $3,000 competitive scholarship awarded by the Mara Holding Jennings Foundation to Jill Weaver under the Jennings Grants to Educators program. The board also accepted a $2,014 grant from the Adam (adamhs) Board, Montgomery County, to Valid High School.
Contracts and service agreements: the board approved a service agreement with the Montgomery County Educational Service Center for math instructional coaching for the 2024'25 school year and a 2025 service agreement with the Warren County ESC; the board also approved a contract with G2G Solutions, LLC. Board materials were provided to members in advance, and motions were called and passed unanimously on the record.
Personnel and student action: the board approved recommended personnel actions (details were referenced as listed in board attachments) and granted early graduation to Elijah Harding, who the board was told had met all graduation requirements.
Facilities and calendar: during the meeting a facilities presenter reported major construction milestones on the district building project; district staff said occupancy is contingent on completion of the fire-alarm system and indicated students would begin using the new building on Dec. 2. The board approved changing its Nov. 11, 2024 meeting to Nov. 18, 2024.
