"This is a long overdue plan, but it will set the course for Clinton County for the next 10 to 12 years," Commissioner Hart said, naming staff members Steve Gibson, Ben Green and Beth Whitty as active participants in the effort. Hart encouraged public participation and noted in-person pickup and drop-off locations at county libraries and senior centers in Mill Hall and Renovo.
Vice Chairman Snyder also announced that the county had been awarded grant funds from the Fish and Boat Commission to perform a feasibility study for a kayak fish passage around the dam on the Woodward Township side of the river. Snyder said the county had been pursuing the grant through the planning department and described the news as "exciting." The board did not vote on the planning effort or the feasibility study during the meeting; both items were presented as announcements.
