Commission adopts annual land development code update, flags private airstrip language for later
The board approved a routine annual update to the Land Development Code reflecting legislative preemptions and clarifications on outdoor storage, lay-down yards and towers; county staff suggested private airstrips could be handled by a special-exception approach and recommended further consideration in a future update.

County planner Don McDonald told commissioners the annual Land Development Code update is largely corrections and clarifications, and noted state legislative changes have required local process updates. "So that's gonna, I think, be a common thing," McDonald said, and flagged several topics that changed this year, including legal time frames, ex parte communication procedures, and revised definitions for outdoor storage and lay-down yards.
