Board counsel Joseph Haines Davis told the board he had reviewed the petitions and their recommendations for legal sufficiency: “I reviewed all of the petitions and recommendations, and they’ve been reviewed,” he said. After members confirmed they had examined the materials, the board considered each petition individually.
On petition 2025‑01 (Wildwood Land Holding LLC) the board approved the magistrate’s recommendation to grant relief, after a motion and second. For petition 2025‑11 (Camino Real Estate LLC, listed in the packet as petition 2025Dash11 at 1475), members clarified that the special magistrate had recommended denial; Commissioner Jeff Bogue moved to accept that recommendation and the board approved the denial by voice vote. The board similarly approved the magistrate’s recommendation to deny petition 2025‑40 (Yaja Gowon).
The board also authorized the chairman to execute DR 4488 (certificate of the value adjustment board) and DR 529 (notice of tax impact) for the matters before it. Those authorizations were moved and approved by voice vote.
The board approved a staff recommendation to authorize the board clerk to seek special‑magistrate services for 2026, a measure staff said was intended to ensure timely handling of petitions as filings increase.
