The Sumter County Board unanimously approved routine financial items and multiple contract items on Dec. 9 after no commissioners asked for separate consideration. Chair brought forward an appointment: the board voted unanimously to appoint Matthew Bristol to the Construction Industry Licensing and Fire Code Board for the appeals vacancy.
Chair said he reviewed Mr. Bristol's application and concluded he "definitely fits for the member in the fire industry." Commissioners moved and seconded the appointment and the motion carried without opposition. The board also approved three financial items together and approved several contracts and general items later in the agenda by recorded motions and unanimous votes.
These votes were presented as consent and non-controversial; the chair noted that two contract items were pulled for discussion earlier in the meeting and were later approved after deliberation.
