Hall County commissioners opened seven bids for the Box Culvert projects and later awarded the construction contract to the low bidder and selected an engineering firm for a related overlay project.
Clerk read seven bids for the box-culvert work; totals ranged from roughly $87,319 to $131,246. Public works staff analyzed the submissions and recommended awarding the contract to the low bidder, Ramos Construction, at $87,319.12. A commissioner moved to award the bid to Ramos; the board voted and the motion carried with seven yes votes.
For the overlay project, three engineering quotes came in; Spies Lewis offered the low price of $10,000. The board voted to award that engineering contract to Spies Lewis, motion carried 7-0.
Board members asked staff to verify bid math and to proceed with contract execution; public works said it would return the contract documents once signed. Commissioners noted competitive pricing and asked staff to provide further cost estimates after contract signing.
The awards advance the procurement process and authorize staff to complete contract paperwork and begin project scheduling.
