The Muscle Shoals City Schools Board approved its meeting agenda and minutes and voted to accept a consent package that included the district's January financial report, the check register, two out-of-state student trips and a recommendation to increase community-education fees.
Dr. Holden presented the consent agenda and described its contents: the high school show choir is scheduled to attend Walt Disney World and Universal Studios in March; the high school band is scheduled to attend the Chicago St. Patrick's Day parade; and community education director Kelly Morrow recommended raising summer camp registration and weekly fees for the district's community-education program. The board did not pull any consent items for separate discussion and approved the package in a single vote.
The board also approved a personnel report presented by Dr. Holden. The personnel items noted in the meeting packet and read aloud included the hiring of Heather Quillen as CNP staff at McBride; the addition of five after-school tutors for Muscle Shoals Middle School to be paid through the ASAP grant; Emma Norman added to the extended-day substitute list; and Mackenzie Rec recommended to provide homebound services for a student in Highland Park. Several substitute assignments and leaves were listed for information only.
The meeting record shows motions, seconds and unanimous assent on the agenda, minutes, consent agenda and personnel report; the board took each vote without extended discussion.
