Commissioners approved a consent package that included: a $1.2 million contract with McCullough Equipment for replacement tractor mowers across maintenance districts; a $3 million improvement resolution to fund preliminary engineering for an Old Plank Road Trail extension study; a $2 million traffic-engineering services contract; contract amendments adding roughly $2.7 million to construction-management services for Old Orchard Road and $2.4 million for 175th Street construction-management services; a $2 million traffic-engineering services contract with Jacobs Engineering; and a $3 million intergovernmental agreement with BNSF Railway to construct right-of-way fencing across multiple suburbs. The related improvement resolution to appropriate $870,000 in local match for the West Cook rail-safety work was also listed and approved on the consent calendar.
Several contracts met the county's MWBE (minority- and women-owned business enterprise) goal of 35 percent, as presenters noted. One commissioner asked to be recorded as voting "present" on item 260341; otherwise the consent motion carried by voice vote. The committee added Commissioners Aguilar and others as cosponsors to two items where requested.
The approvals allow county procurement to execute the listed contracts and amendments; any construction timelines or additional state or federal approvals (for example, coordination with the Illinois Department of Transportation or the Federal Railroad Administration) remain subject to the respective agencies' project controls and schedules.
